I drew inspiration from the naval sabre in a cutdown form suitable for fighting below decks. Holding this will seriously make you feel like a swashbuckling pirate ☠
The blade and guard are repurposed file steel.
We cast the bronze bolster in local beach sand and carved the self-collected Wairarapa red jasper cabochon. The handle is a section of stag crown antler.
I crafted the sheath from coffee stained leather, adding a rustic belt clip from salvaged copper.
