Benjamin hand forged this Presentation Pounamu Hunting Knife from a billet he composed out of 1084, recycled bandsaw blade and excavated wrought iron pipe.
It has an integral bolster and hidden tang construction.
He carved the handle from Wairarapa Ocean Beach native driftwood which he stabilised for strength and longevity.
The final touch comes by way of Hokitika glacial moraine kawakawa pounamu which Benjamin carved into a cabochon and set at the pommel.
This Art Knife come with its own unique Ngai Tahu Pounamu Authentication Code so the stone can be traced back to its Hokitika origins through the newzealandpounamu.com database.
Our pounamu was blessed in its raw form before it was gifted to us. We handle each taonga with customary respect and every possible care.
Marisa custom made the ambidextrous pancake style sheath in leather, the damascus pattern on the blade echoed in the leather embossing.
This art knife comes with its own signed Certificate of Authenticity.
